    FOOD BANK

General Purpose: To collect and distribute food donations from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish to the Mechanicsburg and Dillsburg centers of New Hope Ministries.

On the first Sunday of each month, parishioners are asked to bring non-perishable food items and household staples to donate to the needy of the area. This is done through the food bank at New Hope Ministries. After the 11:00 AM Sunday Mass, St. Elizabeth food bank volunteers collect the items that were left at the entrances to the church during the weekend Masses, and they then deliver them to the designated center on Monday. Delivery alternates between Mechanicsburg and Dillsburg centers monthly.

General Purpose: To sponsor a social action project outside the parish that reflects the life and teaching of Christ.

As part of the Mission of Service, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish adopts a project that extends its assistance to the needy beyond the parish boundaries. The mission project may vary from year to year after consultation with the Parish Pastoral Council. At present, the parish project is the Special Needs Apostolate of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Harrisburg. Offerings in the mission project boxes at the exits to the church fund this endeavor.

    SHAWL MINISTRY

General Purpose: To combine the love and care of knitting (crochet) into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace.

On the second Thursday in the morning and the second Tuesday in the evening of every month, parishioners meet in the Parish Center to knit or crochet shawls, which are presented to individuals who are in need of comfort. Throughout the creation of the shawls, prayers are offered for the intentions of the recipient. Recipients may include those undergoing medical procedures, as a comfort after a loss, during bereavement, or for those during or recovering from an illness.
